The statistic displays the results of a survey regarding the share of adolescents having consumed alcoholic beverages before in the Netherlands in 2017, by age. The survey results show that the share of adolescents who had tried alcohol before increased significantly with age. As of 2017, roughly 20 percent of 12 year olds in the Netherlands had tried alcohol before, whereas the share of 16 year olds who had consumed alcohol was over 70 percent.
