From 2015 onwards, the net turnover and store sales value per square meter of shop floor area of sports and camping stores in the Netherlands increased annually. In 2015, Dutch camping and sports stores had a net turnover of just over 1,700 euros, and store sales of roughly 1,500 euros per square meter of shop floor area. As of 2018, these figures had grown to approximately 2,000 and 1,600 euros respectively.

The source notes the turnover is excluding taxes "from the sales of goods and products and the provision of services to third parties". Moreover the source states the figures only include companies located in the Netherlands. It states: "Only the turnover of the activities exploited in the Netherlands is included in the case of foreign companies with Dutch branches. For Dutch companies with branches abroad, only the turnover of their (retail) stores in the Netherlands were included." The source states: "the numbers are national averages".
The source defines the shop floor area as the floor area of the store which is visible and available to the public.
