Total number of new HIV diagnoses in Italy 2022, by age group and gender
In 2022, 1,888 new HIV cases were diagnosed in Italy. This statistic breaks down this figure according to the patients' age and gender. Most new diagnosis were among males, with 1,486 new cases, while only 402 new cases were among females. For both genders, the age at the moment of the diagnoses was more often between 40 and 49 years of age. In fact, 389 men and 103 women in their 40s were newly diagnosed with HIV.
