The death rate in Russia declined to 12.9 deaths per 1,000 inhabitants in 2022. This decrease was preceded by an increase in death rate. The crude death rate refers to the number of deaths in a given year, expressed per 1,000 population. When studied in combination with the crude birth rate, the rate of natural population increase can be determined.
