In the past four years, the unemployment figures in Italy experienced a decrease. Substantial regional differences exist within the country's unemployment rate. In particular, Campania, Calabria, and Sicily registered the largest unemployed population. On the contrary, most of the regions recording the lowest unemployment rates are in the North. For instance, in Trentino-South Tyrol the share of unemployed people was less than four percent in 2023.
