Youth unemployment in Italy recorded a decreasing trend since the beginning of 2021. However, for females aged 15 to 24 years, the dropping pattern halted in the second quarter of 2022. Since then, the unemployment rate stabilized around 25 percent, while during the same time it kept diminishing for young males, going below 20 percent at the beginning of 2024. As a result, the gap between young men and women has been enlarging over the last years.
