Morocco is one of the greatest spender on renewable energy capacity as a share of the GDP. In 2018, the Northern African country spent 2.63 percent of its GDP on clean energy capacity additions. Morocco plans to add around 10 gigawatts of renewable capacity between 2018 and 2030 to reach a 52 percent renewable share of total capacity. The majority is to be installed as solar power.
