Number of visits to the EU by UK residents 2019, by purpose of trip
The majority of visits to the countries of the European Union by residents of the United Kingdom in 2019 were for vacation travel, at around 44.56 million visits. Visiting friends and relatives was the trip reason cited the most after holiday in that year, with around 14.85 million such trips registered.
