Common online activities in Norway 2023
As of 2023, banking and e-mail were the most common online activity in Norway, as 96 percent of internet users in the country performing these activities. More than half of the online population in Norway used the internet to buy or order clothes and sports goods. Surfing online to book travel or holiday accommodation was the case for nearly 60 percent of Norwegians. Most Norwegians reported to be using the internet once a week in 2022. Furthermore, 95 percent used it daily. Only one percent of the respondents reported to be using the internet less than once a week that year.
Household with internet devices
The share of households with internet access in Norway increased over the last decade. From 78 percent of households with internet access in 2007, the percentage reached 99 percent in 2021. The average number of devices with internet access per household in Norway that year was 7.96. This was, in fact, the highest number, compared to the other Nordic countries. Second in the ranking was Sweden with 7.29 devices on average.
Where in Norway are there most internet users?
A survey conducted in 2018, investigated which Norwegian regions had most internet users that year. Oslo/Akershus and Agder/Rogaland led in the ranking with 99 percent of internet users. Northern Norway had fewest internet users - 96 percent of the population, to be precise.
