Share of paid subscriptions for music streaming services in Finland 2016, by age

This statistic shows the results of a survey on paid subscriptions for music streaming services such as Spotify, Apple music or similar in Finland in 2016, by age group. In that year, 43 of the respondents aged 16 to 24 had a paid music streaming subscription. The corresponding figure for the age group of 25 to 34 years was 34 percent. Age groups of 45 to 54 and 55 to 65 years had the lowest shares of music streaming subscriptions.
Music streaming services allow their users to stream content without the need to purchase or download it. Music streaming service users are often presented with two options for using the service: a paid subscription or a free ad-supported account. Popular music streaming services in Finland include Spotify and Apple music and Soundcloud. In Finland, the sales of physical music have been decreasing, whereas daily usage of music streaming services is becoming popular.
