This statistic shows the glyphosate use in the United States in selected years from 1974 to 2014, in thousand kilograms, by sector. In 1974, some 363 thousand kilograms of glyphosate were used in the agricultural sector in the U.S., while 272 thousand kilograms were used in the non-agricultural sector. In 2014, some 113.4 million kilograms of glyphosate were used in the U.S. agricultural sector, while 12 million kilograms were used in the non-agricultural sector. Glyphosate is a widely-used herbicide, also known by the trade name Roundup.
