This statistic shows SSE's direct costs of electricity generation in the United Kingdom (UK),from 2010 to 2019, in million British pounds. The direct costs declined to their minimum of 81 million British pounds in 2011. They increased more than twofold in 2013 and more than threefold in 2015, when they amounted to 641.1 million British pounds. In 2019, the direct costs of electricity generation totaled 507.3 million British pounds.

*Direct costs include transportation, environmental, social and obligation costs associated with domestic and non-domestic generation and other direct costs. Since 2009, the Office of Gas & Electricity Markets (OFGEM) require the so-called 'Big Six' large energy suppliers to provide an annual consolidated statement (CSS) to show the costs, revenues and profits for the different segments of their generation and supply businesses.
