Total CHP electricity by fuels 2010-2018

This statistic displays the total amount of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) electricity generated from fuels in the United Kingdom (UK) from 2010 to 2018, by fuel type, in gigawatt hours. It shows that the amount of electricity generated from renewable fuels increased over this period from 1,269 gigawatt hours in 2010 to 3,876 gigawatt hours in 2018. The total amount of CHP electricity generated from natural gas has decreased notably to 17,135 gigawatt hours but remains by far the largest source for CHP electricity generation.
