From 2010 to 2019, the attendance at fair and exhibition events in Italy fluctuated significantly. In 2010, the attendance, namely the number of spectators at non-ticketed events, was 611 thousand. After peaking at 1.1 million in 2012, the attendance decreased to roughly 171 thousand in 2014. In 2019, fairs and exhibitions registered an attendance of 236 thousand.
