The number of computed tomography (CT) scanners in Denmark saw no significant changes in 2022 in comparison to the previous year 2021 and remained at around 256 scanners. Nevertheless, 2022 still represents a peak in the number of CT scanners in Denmark with 256 scanners.
The computed tomography (short: CT) scanner can be described as a computerized x-ray machine. Instead of one single, fixed x-ray beam in the conventional x-ray machine, there is a motorized, rotating x-ray source which is processed by the machine's computer into cross-sectional images. These so-called 'slices' contain far more detailed information than conventional x-ray images.
