This statistic displays the amount of bioenergy used to generate heat in the United Kingdom (UK) from 2010 to 2018, in thousand metric tons of oil equivalent. It shows that the amount of bioenergy used to generate heat increased significantly over this period, from approximately 1.9 million metric tons of oil equivalent in 2010 to 4.4 million metric tons of oil equivalent in 2018. In 2011 however, the amount of bioenergy used for heat generation actually decreased compared to the previous year, and totaled 1.8 million metric tons of oil equivalent.
