Railway operating revenue by segment in Canada 2013-2022

Between 2013 and 2022, freight revenues from Canada’s railroad network represented over 90 percent of total revenues generated. In 2022, Canada's railway carriers reported nearly 17 billion Canadian dollars in operating revenue from freight operations. This is a 12.5 percent year-on-year increase compared to 2021.
