In 2020, less than one-fifth (19 percent) of people in the Netherlands aged between 15 and 23 years went to the movie theaters to watch a Dutch film. In 2016, the share for that age group stood at 34 percent. Between 2019 and 2020, overall cinema reach in the Netherlands declined regardless of monthly income.
