Italian e-cigarette users would go to a tobacco shop. In 2015, regular and occasional e-cigarette users made up 1.2 percent of the adult population in Italy.

In 2017, 46 percent of Italian smokers answering to a poll thought that e-cigarettes were not harmful to the health of people who used them. Also, in 2015, 69 percent of asked smokers pointed out that electronic cigarettes were less unhealthy than cigarettes and 57 percent of respondents used them in an attempt to quit smoking. The latter trend is confirmed in a 2017 survey, where ten percent of European respondents said they used electronic cigarettes or a similar device to quit to stop smoking.
Types of e-cigarettes
Electronic cigarettes and similar devices are available in different flavors and levels of nicotine, but in Italy the largest part (69 percent) contains between one and eleven milligrams of nicotine.
