In 2019, approximately 1.3 million overnight trips were made by international tourists to Northern Ireland for the purpose of visiting friends and relatives. In comparison, roughly 1.2 million trips were made for holiday purposes and nearly 395 thousand international visitors came to Northern Ireland for business reasons.
