One-quarter of all movies released in Sweden throughout 2021 were dramas. The documentary genre ranked second, accounting for 11 percent of the premieres. Adventure, action, and comedy tied in third place as each of those genres accounted for 10 percent of the film releases in the Nordic country. Meanwhile, almost half of all domestic movies launched in Sweden in 2021 were documentaries.
