The number of unlimited monthly data plans increased notably from 2013 to 2023, while other types of plans decreased during this period. In 2023, the number of phone plans with limited data transfer amounted to 1.01 million.
All the major mobile operators (Elisa, DNA, and Telia) only sell unlimited data plans in Finland. The Finnish carriers focus on selling data plans with faster maximum speeds, instead of limiting data usage. In terms of monthly data consumption per capita, Finns clearly rank first among the Nordic countries and worldwide.
