This statistic shows the total transmission entry capacity (TEC) of gas turbines and oil engines in the United Kingdom (UK) from 2010 to 2018, in megawatts. It shows that the transmission entry capacity of these power stations remained largely the same over this period, the capacity of electricity from natural flow increased only by seven megawatts. In 2018, the capacity of electricity from pumped storage remained at 2,744 megawatts.
Transmission entry capacity (TEC) of hydro-electric stations in the United Kingdom (UK) from 2010 to 2018
(in megawatt)
Small-scale hydro, wind and solar photovoltaics capacity are shown on declared net capability basis, and are de-rated to account for intermittency, by factors of 0.365, 0.43 and 0.17 respectively.
Transmission Entry Capacity (TEC) is a Connection and Use of System Code term that defines a generator's maximum allowed export capacity onto the transmission system. The TEC register provides a publicly available record of the existing allocation of Transmission Entry Capacity (TEC), the business it is allocated to and the site details.
