International tourist arrival growth in European countries 2019-2023
In 2023, the number of international tourist arrivals in some European countries surpassed the figures reported before the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. For instance, the number of international tourist arrivals in Turkey recorded between January and November 2023 was nearly nine percent higher than in 2019. That said, inbound tourist arrivals in most European countries have not recovered yet from the impact of the health crisis. In this respect, Lithuania had the highest decrease in international arrivals among the selected European destinations.
