Computer user penetration in Sweden 2011-2018

The share of Swedes with access to computers at home increased slightly over the period from 2011 to 2018. Starting at 89 percent in 2011, the percentage had been 93 percent since 2017. A 2017 survey investigated which the leading computer or tablet activities were that year. Nearly all interviewed Swedes stated to be using the Internet. Among other common activities were streaming videos via the Internet, as well as sending and receiving emails.

 Computers in the Nordics 

   The average number of computers per household in Sweden in 2018 was a bit over two, which was second highest within the Nordic countries. Norway led the ranking, whereas Finland and Denmark were respectively third and fourth. The share of Swedish households with a computer was lower than that of Finnish and Norwegian households, but higher than the Danish ones in 2018.

 Worldwide

   Similarly, the share of worldwide households with a computer at home increased over the past decade. Starting at under 70 percent in 2009, the percentage amounted to over 80 percent after 2016 and was expected to further increase.
