Pemex's petrochemical production amounted to approximately 3.5 million metric tons in 2023, a decrease of roughly seven percent in comparison to the previous year. The national oil corporation's petrochemical output has been continuously decreasing since 2013. As production drops, Pemex's petrochemical imports have increased in recent years.

Figures include petrochemicals manufactured by Petrochemical Centers and National Refining System, as well as ethane and sulfur of Gas Processing Complexes. Of the refined products of Petrochemical Centers, figures include octane base gasoline, heavy naphtha, and amorphous gasoline, and exclude gas naphtha.
