The share of value added by the agriculture, forestry and fishing sector to the gross domestic product in Egypt decreased to 10.6 percent compared to the previous year. In 2023, the share thereby reached its lowest value in recent years.
The agriculture, forestry, and fishing sector includes crop cultivation, forestry, hunting, fishing, and livestock production. The value added refers to the net output of the sector, obtained by deducting the intermediate inputs (or intermediate consumption) from the gross production revenues.
