The share of students in upper secondary schools in Sweden increased from the academic year 2012/13 to 2016/17 following the high number of unaccompanied minor refugees arriving in Sweden in 2015. Since 2018/19, the share has decreased slightly, falling from 32 percent that year to 29 percent at the beginning of the academic year 2021/22.
