In 2021, WH Smith did not generate any profits, mostly due to the closing of its establishments caused by COVID-19 lockdowns. Instead, this British retailer specializing in books, stationery, newspapers, and magazines reported a loss before tax of 116 million British pounds that year. In 2023, the retailer turned to profit again, delivering 110 million British pounds profit befor tax.
