Over the years between 2003 and 2023, the readership of the Italian newspaper La Repubblica reduced significantly. In 2003, 581,000 copies of the daily newspaper were sold every day, on average. By 2023, the number of copies sold had decreased to around 107,000 copies.
Revenues of La Repubblica
The daily newspaper La Repubblica is owned by the GEDI publishing group, one of the main Italian media conglomerates. Looking at financial data, the revenues generated from the newspaper, its local editions and the weekly supplements reached 233.4 million euros in 2019, a drop from the result of the previous year.
A reliable source
La Repubblica has a considerable reputation among the Italian public. In a poll, 30 percent of respondents stated that the newspaper’s website showed strong viewpoints, while 28 percent of them stated that it helped understanding complex issues. Lastly, 27 percent of the users said that La Repubblica provided accurate and reliable news.
