In February 2021, Trevor Bauer signed a three-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers worth over 100 million U.S. dollars. This lucrative deal made him the highest paid player in Major League Baseball, with his annual earnings coming in at approximately 40 million U.S. dollars. Second on the list was Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels. The center fielder signed a 12-year contract with the Angels in 2019, earning him 426 million U.S. dollars over the duration of the deal and approximately 37 million U.S. dollars in the 2020 season.
