Construction of buildings was the category with the highest revenue share within the civil engineering industry in Italy in 2019, amounting to almost nine billion euros. Utility projects for electricity and telecommunications occupied the second place in the list, reaching roughly four billion euros of revenue. Railways and underground railways was by far the segment with the lowest revenue at 516 million euros.
