Higher education institution expenditure 2022, by type

In 2022, the type of expenditure which cost higher education institutions in Sweden the most was staff expenditure. That year, Swedish universities spent more than 54 billion Swedish kronor on staff, which was slightly more than the previous year. The second largest type of expense were other expenses, whereas facilities accounted for the third highest amount of expenditure.
