In 2023, 73 percent of Finns used WhatsApp for reading, watching, sharing or discussing news. Female respondents used WhatsApp for following the news more often than male respondents in Finland. However, the third most popular platform YouTube was more commonly used by men. Other commonly used social media platforms among all respondents included Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram.
