The eSports market has boomed in recent years, with gaming fanatics filling whole arenas to watch the world's best eSports players take each other on in a wide range of online games. During an October 2022 survey in the United States, 69 percent of all respondents who had heard of eSports stated that they had never attended an eSports event in person. By contrast, nine percent of respondents stated that they attended eSports events in person several times a week.
