In 2021, there were significantly more women than men who were engaged in higher education in Sweden. Almost 234,000 women participated in higher education that year, compared to around 149,000 men. On the other hand, though, there were more men than women in upper secondary education, with 184,000 and 172,000, respectively. The largest age group in education in Sweden were those between 16 and 18.
