During the period from 2012 to 2022, market value of publishing media in Finland declined significantly. The market value of newspapers decreased from roughly one billion to 812 million euros as of 2022. Furthermore, the magazine industry value declined dramatically, from 650 million euros in 2012 to 325 million euros in 2022.

Book sales for 2014, 2015 and 2016 have been revised in Sept 2018. Due to changes in compilation of statistics, figures as of 2017 are not totally comparable with previous years.
