PPE supply and spend change among U.S. health systems during COVID-19 in 2020 vs 2021
A survey of Premier Inc. members found that health systems in the United States had around 30 days of supply of surgical masks on hand during the COVID-19 spikes in 2020. As of March 1, 2021, this supply had increased to 45 days of supply on hand. Purchase order spend for surgical masks increased 1,310 percent from March 2019 to March 2020. This statistic shows the results of an analysis conducted by Premier inc. focusing on the supply of PPE among its health system members in the U.S. during the spikes of COVID-19 in 2020 vs. March 2021, as well as the percentage change in purchase order spend from March 2019 to March 2021.
