From 1990 to 2021, the forest area worldwide changed at a rate of 5.9 million hectares of land every year. Nevertheless, in the past three decades the loss rate has been decreasing from 7.8 million hectares per year in the 90s to 4.7 million hectares per year in the 2010s.
