In 2023, the highest number of people in Sweden were employed in business service and financial industries, reaching nearly 980,000 employees. The second largest branch was human health and social work activities, with 757,000 employees, followed by people working in the educational sector. People working in agriculture, forestry, and fishing made up the smallest group of employees in the country with only 84,000. In 2023, the total number of people employed in Sweden was 5.2 million.
