Data is based on 401 energy infrastructure projects realised around the world. Nuclear reactor construction had the highest average cost overrun among the different types. On average the cost overrun for nuclear reactor projects was 117.3 percent.

Figures are based on data collected by the authors Benjamin Sovacool, Alex Gilbert and Daniel Nugent.
Study included 401 electricity infrastructure projects.
Cost figures were adjusted for currency differences and inflation based on the United States Dollar at 2012.
