This statistic displays the average amount of disposable income per private household in the Netherlands in 2021, by household type. It shows that on average households had a disposable income of roughly 48,400 euros in 2021. Single-parent households had a slightly lower than average disposable income, at just over 41,200 euros.

The average disposable income per private household consists of the gross salaries minus the income-related insurances, health insurance, taxes on income and wealth and other income transfers, such as alimony.

* All figures are provisional.

The household composition is dependent on the relationships between the household members and the main breadwinner. The presence of children living at home and the relationship to the partner are vital in this. Other multiple-person households consists of those households that have other members than the main breadwinner's partner and children, such as lodgers.
