Forecast household composition in the Netherlands 2016-2060, by role

This statistic shows a forecast of the household composition in the Netherlands from 2016 to 2060, by role (in thousands). It reveals that between 2016 and 2060 the number of children living at home is expected to grow from 4,560,000 to 4,688,000. In the same period the number of singles is also expected to increase from 2,918,000 to 3,688,000 and the number of cohabitants from 8,438,000 to 8,581,000. Although a slight decline is expected temporarily for some categories, on the whole the numbers are predicted to increase for all.
