Domestic energy supply profits of npower in the United Kingdom (UK) 2009-2019

Npower made a loss of 155 million British pounds in its domestic energy supply business in the UK in 2019. Between 2009 and 2019, the company recorded a loss in almost all years. In 2009, the Big Six energy supply reported a loss of 238 million British pounds. Domestic energy supply profits increased to the peak in 2013, at 132 million British pounds.

The company was established in 2000 as Innogy plc. Later on, the German electric utility RWE took over Innogy and renamed it RWE npower plc. In 2016, RWE split its renewable energy, network and retail businesses into a new company, Innogy SE. Npower Limited was a subsidiary of this new company, while fossil fuels energy power stations became part of RWE Generation UK plc. By the end of 2019, npower Limited was acquired by E.ON UK, and all customers will migrate to E.ON Next in 2020.
