Value of M&A deals in Canada 2006-2023

Merger and acquisition (M&A) deals in Canada bounced back in 2021, after underperforming in 2020. Between January and December 2021, the value of M&A deals reached 150 billion U.S. dollars, up from only 71 billion U.S. dollars in 2020. In 2023, however, M&A value in Canada went back to 81 billion U.S. dollars.
