As of May 2024, the United States had more than 80 gigawatts of offshore wind capacity in the pipeline. At the time, more than four gigawatts were already under construction, with the largest share undergoing planning.
In contrast, operating offshore wind capacity in the U.S. stood at 174 megawatts at the time.
