The private equity-backed buyout transactions globally reached a peak of just over one trillion U.S. dollars in 2021. This represented a nearly twofold increase compared to the previous year, when boyout deals amounted to 577 billion U.S. dollars. In 2022 and 2023, however, PE buyout deals transactions declined in value and stood at 438 billion U.S. dollars.
