The value of merger and acquisition (M&A) deals in the United States in 2022, 2023, and 2024 decreased significantly compared to the peak recorded in 2021. Between January and December 2024, the value of M&A deals in the U.S. reached 1.6 trillion U.S. dollars. M&A deals targeting Chinese companies also decreased in value since 2021, going from 575 billion U.S. dollars to 306 billion U.S. dollars in 2024.
