UK: quarterly small household e-waste collection 2023

In the third quarter of 2023, some 8,710 metric tons of small household appliances were collected as part of the UK Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment directive (WEEE). The quarterly volume of small household electrical appliances collected has oscillated since 2013, peaking at 10,763 metric tons in the second quarter of 2018. Collection volumes have typically been highest in the second and third quarter of each year. However, the outbreak of COVID-19 in early 2020 saw volumes in the second quarter of the year plummet to a low of just 3,546 metric tons.
