Indonesia smartphone vendors' market share of shipments in Q2 2022-Q2 2023

The competition among smartphone shipments in Indonesia has increased in 2023 with only five brands commanding more than 80 percent of the market. Oppo was able to achieve a significant share of the smartphone shipment market among the globally renowned market leaders. Samsung and Vivo followed with a share of 19 percent and 17 percent, respectively.

Oppo in Indonesia

Indonesia is one of Oppo's largest market in the Asia-Pacific region. Despite its declining number of global shipments, Oppo succeeded to maintain its leading position in Indonesia. This is shown by an increase in the brand's share of shipments in the country that reached a 21 percent share, mainly amplified by its low-end device models. However, in recent years the Chinese company has also started to target the high-end market through innovative smartphone models such as the Find N series.

As several studies show, the Indonesian smartphone market is still on the rise. In 2022, the number of social media users in Indonesia amounted to over 200 million and is still expected to grow in the next years. With an increasing mobile internet user penetration, as well as increasing online advertising spending, the future for the smartphone market in Indonesia looks promising.
